Online education is merely increased along with today’s education pattern and became a source to working persons. However there are a lot of drawbacks or disadvantages which students must know before getting a degree through online. In this article I’ve explained some of the common points of drawbacks that must aware by everyone who desires to get a certificate vide online. Every system has its positive and negative facets; the same thing is here in getting an education via online methods. The foremost disadvantage of online education is the student has to complete its courses without going or attending to classrooms. Without attending classroom teaching it is really difficult to get through the subjects and updated information on related subjects and question papers. Second thing is practice and competition. In classroom education there is an environment of regular practice and competition among other students which makes more ideal.
Through online studies one can do practices, however not as much as through the traditional college going classes. In classroom practices the errors and doubts can be rectified or clarified by the professors or lecturers; which is not possible in online practices. Even though it is possible, for which the student has to go through various web searches and follow referral books for a long time; which is again wastage of time. A classroom study in traditional education creates a competitive environment among students in every common assignment; which later helps to score maximum marks in final exams. The same can’t be fulfilled in distance or online education system.
Many people used to choose online education method to get a degree due to their busy lifestyle and lack of time to attend the regular classes. However, it is also found as per the outcomes of many college results; rarely the distance learning students are able to get their degrees in time. Otherwise, most of the students failed to accomplish the same in due course due to lack of time and leisure. Therefore, as per my opinion without having sufficient time to study or get through the subjects better to not move for online and distance education systems.
Study materials provided by the university or institutions to online or distance students are either latest one or old one. However you’ll not able to get the other books and study materials which are available in college libraries. Even though some colleges provide online education materials, which can be downloaded and referred; but that is also inadequate and not updated or recent published materials. Therefore, online studied students will not be able to get this benefit.
Similarly, the student-teacher and student-student interactions perk up a student’s understanding and to know various methods of learning, reading, writing and making solutions to various problems. While taking classes online, this option is completely unavailable for the students. Due to which they lacks from various open discussions, updated information and subject matters, updated question patterns etc. This is one of the most vital drawbacks of getting an online education.
The last and most significant point of disadvantage is about the accreditation and validation of the obtained degree. Day by day the education system is changing and due to arrival of many foreign systems the gradation of school, college and university also changing. Therefore, after getting a degree or diploma through online method it is very difficult to get a proper job as compared to the regular students. The students have to struggle more as contrast to the normal college going students to get a proper job and recommendation. For this a student has to secure high rank and must have an extra working experience; then only it can be helpful after getting an online education.
